Yamaha Nytro Engine:
This is the engine I flew in my BD-5 for 120 hrs. It the Yamaha Nytro
1050cc, 3 cylinder, 4 stroke from a 2009 snowmobile. It produces 130 HP at
10000 rpm. My system/prop allowed it to turn 8000 rpm / 4000 prop rpm and
gave me a max speed of 215 mph. I am including the GSC 46 x 64 wood prop and
the pulleys to allow a 2 to 1 reduction of engine rpm. I will also include
the jack shaft with new spare rubber discs and the 1.6 ratio upper pulley and
the belts, prop spinner, compression plate and prop bolts. You will still
need Kauth built drive shaft and clutch assembly for a BD-5 installation.
The engine comes complete with fuel selector, fuel pump, engine mounts,
exhaust system, aluminum radiator and hoses and oil tank and wireing assembly
including fuel pressure/ coolant temp guage and tach display. I promise
that this engine and these parts will turn a well built BD-5 into a 200+ mph
flying machine.
